We share what happens around the table (in more ways than one).
Board Brains covers the board gaming hobby across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. We discuss the experiences games create and what those experiences reveal about the people playing. When we cover events, we bring many lenses with us (literal and metaphorical).
…and the people they’re building it for.
Creative work is all about impact. We wanted to share some of the feedback we’ve had from our community, as this is what guides our work (and inspires us to keep going!).

Deep Regrets
Case Study
We played Deep Regrets once and then talked about it immediately, while the experience was still raw.
First impression content like this isn't a verdict; it's a window into what a game actually feels like to play. Our audience uses it to work out whether a game is for them.
Here's what that looked like:

Feya's Swamp
Case Study
Feya's Swamp is a game we've put real time into. We’ve played at two, three, and four players, and multiple sessions at each.
This breadth lets us give our audience something genuinely useful: not just what a game is, but a considered sense of whether it's right for them.
Our community tells us our content shapes their purchasing decisions. This kind of coverage is a big part of why.

UKGE 2026
Case Study
Our UKGE coverage ran before, during, and after the event . This included previews of games we were looking forward to trying, first-day recommendations from the show floor, and a look at what it's actually like to be there.
Here's what that looked like.

Any Questions?
If there's anything else you'd like to know before granting a pass such as our planned coverage for the event, We are easy to reach at hey@theboardbrains.com.
We love discovering new games and working with publishers of all sizes to share great experiences with our community. To help us build a great partnership, here are the guidelines on how we handle review copies and content.
Our Review Philosophy
We focus heavily on the experience of playing a game and how tabletop gaming connects us to ourselves and each other. We are always on the lookout for unique experiences, interesting mechanics, and strong hooks. When you reach out to us, it goes a long way if you can share why you think your game is a great fit for our audience based on those experiential elements.
Review Copies and Timelines
Accepting a review copy does not guarantee that we will feature the game on our channels. We only take on games when we believe we have the capacity to cover them, but we always review on our own schedule.
If you have a specific deadline, launch date, or preferred week for content to go live, please let us know. We will do our absolute best to meet your request, but due to our busy schedule, we cannot guarantee specific timelines.
How We Handle Coverage Decisions
We work hard to maintain trust with our audience, and we also deeply respect how much care and hard work goes into designing a game. Because of this, if a game falls far outside our personal tastes, or if we find major flaws that outweigh the positives, we may choose not to post a review. Just because a game is not the right fit for us does not mean it wont be perfect for someone else, and we prefer not to put negative energy into the community.
If we play your game and decide not to move forward with a public review, we are still happy to reach out and share our private feedback with your team if you are open to receiving it.
Our Policy on AI-Generated Content
AI content is a highly contentious topic in the board game and creative industries. Because of the impact on the creative community, we err on the side of caution regarding its use.
You must disclose to us upfront if your game uses any AI-generated content in its art, writing, or design. This disclosure allows us to make informed decisions about whether and how we cover the game. If we do choose to review a game that includes AI elements, we will be entirely transparent about it with our audience to protect their trust.
Content Ownership and Usage
All content we produce on our website, YouTube, and social media channels is our own intellectual property. You are more than welcome to link to our videos, articles, or posts to share them with your audience. However, you may not download, edit, or repurpose our content into advertisements without our explicit permission.
